Second Lockdown

Hello All

We will be staying open during the second lockdown (starting 5th November), we will endeavor to bring you as wide a selection of fish and shellfish as possible and look forward to welcoming you into the centre soon (although we may not recognise you as you’ll be wearing a mask)

Warm regards

Seafood Centre Team

We’re back!

Hello All

The fish counter is back up and running, many of the local boats are now going out – so we are able to get good supplies of fresh fish and shellfish. The response from our customers to our re-opening has been genuinely heartening, we were obviously missed – and we have missed seeing you all too.

Temporary opening hours Tuesday – Saturday: 9am-3pm Sunday and Monday: closed

Creel club isn’t quite ready to start up yet (long story bin wagon wrote our chiller van off and still not managed to replace yet) but hopefully soon and we’ll let those of you in the club know asap.

Covid 19 update

As a result of the covid19 situation creel club has been temporarily suspended. We will be up and running again as soon as possible. Keep safe and we’ll be in touch.

Today’s Catch

If you are looking to see what fish we have on the counter today, we update our facebook/instagram daily so you can see what we have.

Lobster Power

We put a lot of energy into putting lobsters back into the sea, most of it is the conscientious efforts of our staff and volunteers; but we use a fair bit of electric with various pumps, heaters and chillers.

We decided to try and be as environmentally responsible as possible with our electrical generation and have had solar panels installed on our roof.

This has been made possible thanks to the generous assistance of our funders

One Hundred Fine Ladies (almost!)

The superstars of the hatchery are our berried hens, these are the ladies holding thousands of eggs that will eventually provide us with the young lobsters we can put back into the sea. Jeff and Dougie who fish from the Restless Wave have brought us back some great specimens this year and we will shortly be getting the one hundredth lobster to pass through the hatchery.

To mark this momentous event we thought we would run a competition. If you would like to name this famous celebrity lobster have a look on our facebook or twitter accounts to find out more

Plenty of fish today
