Seafood for the Squeamish with Martin Charlton, Wed 8th March
Come and join us for an evening with award winning chef Martin Charlton from The Old Boathouse Group at the Northumberland Seafood Centre on Wed 8th March. Martin will be giving a demonstration on buying, preparing and cooking a range of seafood caught off the Northumberland coast. Your feedback has taught us that whilst you’re excited about trying different species of seafood, you’re not all so confident about preparing and cooking it. Martin will take you through a step by step process of what to look for when buying fresh fish and shellfish through to handling, filleting and cooking it. He’ll also show you what to do with live shellfish for those who are squeamish! The demonstration will last approximately 1 hour, then guests are invited to book a table at The Old Boathouse for an evening meal (to be booked separately). If you’re passionate about seafood but not so confident about handling it, this is definitely the evening for you.
